#2 If I looked in your fridge right now, what would I find?

Have you seen videos on any social media talking about if you have an ingredient house or a snack house? These are funny to me. I never gave this any thought, but I totally grew up in an ingredient house.  There was always food. But there wasn't always a bag of chips or cookies.  In a family of 5, if you did have some sort of "snack food" it didn't last long.  So, it was much easier and cost effective to be an ingredient house.

I have fond memories of coming home late at night from a date or night with friends.  My brother would always be awake, and I was always hungry.  That was when we would get creative.  My go to snack was saltine crackers with mayo, cheese, & green olives.  One night we decided we wanted to try and poach eggs.  Don't ask me why! We went through several eggs. We tried different methods and made mostly a mess.  We tried several times to make a cake. We didn't have a recipe we just started adding.  We knew the basic ingredients but never once tried to measure a thing.  They all ended up having the same weird flavor to them.  I can't really describe the taste to you, but I know exactly how it tasted.

I think I have created a snack house. While I do still have lots of ingredients, I also have on any given day a fridge full of chicken nuggets, dips, pizza, & ice cream and a cabinet full of cookies, chips, and pop-tarts.

So back to the original question...what would be found in my fridge? A mess.  Lots of leftovers that have mostly gone bad.  Produce and sandwich meat that have already lived their best life and are waiting to go to their final home.  Drinks, drinks, and more drinks.  Lots of premade snacks and also lots of ingredients and let's not forget the door full of condiments.

Yes, this entry was silly, but it is funny to me to think about how different people were raised and how that shapes you into who you are today.  I still go for the saltines with mayo, cheese, and olives 😊
